Market needs for Smoked OCA

  • Since OCA is primarily used for optical applications, the general requirement for total light transmittance is usually above 90% (measured using the Glass/OCA/Glass structure).

  • Additionally, for certain specific cases, it is necessary to adjust the total light transmittance of OCA to a lower level. This is done in order to regulate the display's brightness and fine-tune display colors.

  • Bando's coloring OCA (SM Series) precisely addresses this demand with their OCA SMOKE, a fully black-tinted OCA.

SM70 properties

  • The standard product of the SM series (SM70) has a total light transmittance that can be controlled around 70%. The adhesion maintains the same level as the previous NT series.

=>The data for total light transmittance is evaluated using the structure of Glass/OCA/Glass.

=>Adhesion (to Glass) is evaluated through a process involving a pulling speed of 30mm/min, a 24-hour bonding period, and a 180-degree peel test.
